NYFW Highlights

With Fashion month well under way, we thought we would take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights from New York Fashion week this year and some of the amazing trends that we can’t wait to see in our wardrobes for next Spring!

Alexander Wang

This year marked 10 years for the Alexander Wang brand and the collection perfectly reflected how he has been able to capture that unmistakably New York, downtown cool style.

3.1 Phillip Lim

Another 10 year anniversary was celebrated during this fashion week by none other than 3.1 Phillip Lim. From the brand that brought you the 31 hour bag, Pashli, and countless other instant classics came a collection that highlighted the designers strongpoints and iconic silhouettes for the brand.

Edun

We like to think of this one as ‘the pop of orange heard ’round the world,’ we are loving the retro and mod silhouettes that were seen down there runway courtesy of Edun. The cherry on top? Edun is a company with deep roots in sustainability and ethical practices, producing their garments in Africa.

Givenchy

A tribute to New York like none other, Givenchy this year hosted a contemplative and celebratory collection that spoke to the energy and resilience of the city 14 years after 9/11. Think lots of lace and amazing figure flattering cuts and even facial adornments.

Rosie Assoulin

Fast becoming one of the most watched designers out of New York right now, Rosie Assoulin showed yet another incredible collection full of the volume and humour that appeals to the fashion girls who know not to take themselves too seriously.

Marc Jacobs

NYFW wonder-boy, Marc Jacobs showed a decidedly ’40’s inspired collection this year. Think letterman jackets, stripes, and preppy classics and all sorts of Americana influence but with the Marc Jacobs undone-ness that we all know and love.

Opening Ceremony

New York darlings, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon showcased this season with a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright complete with dancers from the American Ballet Theatre spontaneously breaking out in to dance down the catwalk, proving that you’ll be able to get down in this collection.
