Runway Review: Chanel Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear

What is a Runway Review without our dose of Chanel? The collection exhibited the classic Chanel style with a hint of equestrian vibe, yet you’d still not mistake it for any other brand. But i think i’m not the only one who expected a bit crazier set for the show. I mean for the past several years Lagerfeld brought us to the most unconventional sets, the airport, the casino, the Zen garden and what not. But as always he never fails to surprise and uncovered the Fall 2016 RTW collection in a plain but very sophisticated white carpet donned with gold chairs.

The collection was an abundance of remarkably typical Chanel trademarks. Tweed suits, quilted surfaces, long layered pearl necklaces and camellias. It’s all the classic Chanel but still very trendy, though that seemed like a moot point since i can’t remember a time when Chanel wasn’t trendy at all. Though this time making use of this year’s Pantone’s colors of the year and equestrian feels. The boater hats, riding boots, khakis and the styling. Some pieces also hinted a Victorian feeling. My favorite part though? It’s the use of the large camellias as prints, not something you see in Chanel every season.
